Geriatric Care Devices – Support for More Safety, Dignity, and Quality of Life
In geriatric care, people are at the heart of everything – with all their individual needs, physical challenges, and the desire for self-determination. Specially developed devices for geriatric care make an important contribution to daily care and enable those in need of care to have more comfort, safety, and quality of life – both in care facilities and in their home environment.
Key devices in geriatric care include electrically adjustable care beds, patient lifts, shower and toilet chairs, mobility aids such as rollators, and positioning and transfer aids. They significantly facilitate daily care, reduce the physical strain on nursing staff, and at the same time strengthen the autonomy of those in need of care.
Modern care aids are functional, ergonomic, and easy to operate. Many devices can be individually adjusted – for example, in height, tilt, or seating position – and have practical additional functions that make daily care more efficient. Aspects such as hygiene, ease of maintenance, and safety certifications also play a central role in selecting suitable devices.
In Switzerland, a wide range of specialized providers are available to competently advise care facilities, Spitex services, and private individuals and equip them with high-quality, certified care devices. Many of these products are also reimbursable through health insurance or supported by state subsidies.
Geriatric care devices create an important foundation for dignified, safe, and modern care – and relieve all those who, with great dedication, work daily for the well-being of older people.
