The range is aimed at hospitals, medical practices, care facilities and aesthetic centres in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that procure injection and drawing-up products for applications such as injections, infusion preparation and sample collection.
What to consider when choosing
Single-use syringes are available as a 2-part design (barrel and plunger) or a 3-part design (additionally with a sealing stopper for smoother plunger movement). For the connection type, a distinction is made between Luer-Lock (screw-on) and Luer slip (Luer-Ansatz, push-on); the cone can be arranged centrically or eccentrically. Common nominal volumes range from 1 ml to 50 ml. Pay attention to sterility (often EO-sterilised), the scale graduation and material compatibility. Single-use needles can be selected by size and colour code; supplementary drawing-up and infusion needles are also available. The relevant packaging unit (VE) and product details are shown on the respective product page. Brand examples include B. Braun Injekt or BD.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Luer-Lock and Luer slip?
With Luer-Lock, the needle is firmly screwed onto the syringe via a thread, which establishes a secure connection. With the Luer slip (Luer-Ansatz), the needle is simply pushed on. Which connection type is suitable depends on the intended application and on the existing practice in your facility.
What does the colour code on single-use needles stand for?
The colour code indicates the outer diameter (gauge) of the needle and is governed by the standard ISO 6009. The colour coding makes it easier to quickly identify the appropriate needle size. The exact dimensional details are shown on the respective product page and on the packaging.
Are the single-use syringes sterile and CE-compliant?
The sterile single-use syringes offered are intended as disposable products for single use and bear the CE marking in accordance with the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745). For sterile single-use syringes, the standard ISO 7886 is applicable. Information on sterilisation procedures and shelf life can be found on the product labelling.
